Not a lot of time to divulge much here for now. The short version is that several years ago, I attempted to get into investing in options. I read a lot of books, went to some expensive seminars, lost a not-insignificant chunk of dough. I was am blessed that it was not a horrendous set-back financially, but I was definitely not pleased with the results. I’ve been out of the game for quite a few years, but have occasionally kept up with things and done some paper/virtual trading along the way.

In October of 2008, I decided to make a second foray into options investing. I opened up an E*Trade brokerage account (already had a couple savings accounts there), and put $3000 in it. So far, things have been doing okay, but I want to get even better at making investment decisions. That brings us to the start of this blog. I’m attempting to record trading decisions and post other market news from the amateur’s perspective, so that I can hold myself accountable and record my progress. My goal is to get this account to earn $7,000 by the end of 2009, for a nice, round $10,000 number… minus any “rewards” I give myself along the way :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the ride!
